What is natural veneer? Definition and properties

Natural veneer is nothing more than a thin, highly precisely sliced sheet of real wood. It is obtained from carefully selected logs (the best quality trees) through a process of rotary or flat slicing. Because it is 100% authentic wood, each sheet of veneer retains an absolutely unique and authentic wood grain pattern, natural coloring, and structure characteristic of a given tree species. Thanks to this, every surface finished with veneer gains a unique look and emphasizes the luxurious, noble character of the interior.

Are natural veneer and wood veneer the same?

This is one of the questions most frequently asked by clients! In technical practice, natural veneer and wood veneer are exactly the same material. The term wood veneer is a technical term that functions much more often in industry jargon (among carpenters, architects, and manufacturers). On the other hand, the name natural veneer is a more intuitive term, commonly used in communication with individual clients and in furniture showrooms. To summarize: veneered furniture is the same as furniture in natural veneer.

What is natural veneer used for (application)

Exclusive furniture:

finishing prestigious fronts, carcasses, and table tops,

Doors and windows:

luxury internal and entrance doors,

Interior architecture:

decorative and acoustic wall and ceiling panels,

Custom built-ins:

including public facilities (hotels, receptions, offices) and private wardrobes.

Why choose veneered furniture instead of solid wood?

Natural veneer is an excellent compromise combining the highest aesthetics and respect for the environment. By gluing real veneer onto very stable and strong base boards (such as MDF Board or Chipboard), we get the visual effect of solid wood, but without the risk of warping or cracking (phenomena that are the bane of thick furniture made of full, working wood). Furthermore, veneer production is an incredibly efficient, rational, and ecological use of the noblest tree species, protecting forests from excessive logging.
