Instructions for use and warranty of veneered elements

The condition for the validity of the warranty granted by Lenwit Fornir Sp. z o.o. is strict compliance with the following rules for the use and maintenance of products in natural veneer.

1. Use and maintenance of veneered elements

  • The temperature in the rooms where the formats and veneered elements are located should be between 17°C and 35°C.
  • Temperature (heating the surface of the format) above 50°C may cause surface cracking and peeling of the veneer from the core (so-called “bubbles”).
  • The veneered surface, made of natural wood, will change its shade, which is a natural feature of this material. These changes are deepened as a result of UV radiation, and their scale depends on the degree of sunlight. Elements may differ in shade between individual production batches.
  • Relative humidity should be within 40% – 60% and occur evenly on both sides of the board (on the visible and inner sides). Rooms should be frequently ventilated.
  • Do not lead to drastic changes in humidity (above +/- 10% within 24 hours), which may cause swelling at the edges and changes in the dimensions of the format.
  • Strictly avoid contact of veneered elements with solvents, ammonia, corrosive liquids and strongly coloring liquids.
  • Avoid contact of the product with objects with a temperature higher than 50°C and with moisture in joints and on edges. Before using any cleaning agent, make sure that it will not damage the varnish.
  • Surface maintenance should be carried out only with a soft cloth slightly soaked in water. A damp surface must be wiped dry immediately.
  • The surfaces of the elements must not be exposed to direct contact with a large amount of water (this threatens to delaminate the board and crack the veneer).

2. Warranty exclusions (What the warranty does not cover)

  • Damage resulting from improper use, not in accordance with the intended purpose, maintenance or storage of the product,
  • Damage arising during transport carried out by the Buyer’s own means,
  • Damage caused by strong chemical and thermal factors,
  • Damage caused by flooding or permanent moisture of the surface and edges,
  • Damage resulting from exceeding the air humidity above 65% and the ambient temperature above 35°C (or above 50°C on the format surface),
  • Mechanical damage (scratches, abrasions) caused by careless use after receipt of the goods,
  • Defects for which the price of the product was reduced at the sales stage (discounted goods / 2nd grade),
  • Defects caused by independent attempts to repair or modify by unauthorized persons,
  • Natural differences in the colors of the veneer resulting from the specificity of real wood and discoloration caused by UV radiation (in particular, differences between different production batches ordered at intervals).

3. Periodic inspections and maintenance

  • The condition for maintaining the warranty is rigorous compliance with the above-mentioned instructions for use.
  • In the case of Lenwit Fornir veneered elements, we do not require carrying out paid periodic inspections.

4. General provisions and complaints

  • All visible defects and transport damage must be reported to Lenwit Fornir Sp. z o.o. immediately, i.e. up to a maximum of 24 hours after unpacking the shipment.
  • Until final assembly, storage of elements must take place “flat”, on an even surface and in conditions that protect against moisture and dust. Each layer of boards must be strictly separated with a soft spacer (e.g. non-woven foam) to avoid scratching the varnish.
